Jasper sits in a green valley within a national park surrounded by the majestic Canadian Rockies. Water in its various forms has shaped the dramatic scenery and continues to create serene landscapes.
Tree-lined Lake Beauvert is the closest to town, but Pyramid and Patricia lakes are more famous thanks to the rugged peaks perfectly reflected in their still waters. Arguably the best of all is Maligne Lake whose incredible water colour is eclipsed by small, pine-lined Spirit Island. You may not know the name, but you’ll probably recognise the view.
Many glaciers come off the huge Columbia Icefield, roughly midway between Jasper and Lake Louise. Some have cut canyons where you can go ice walking. Other winter sports include ice skating and skiing at the Marmot Basin resort, named after local animals.
Bears inhabit the surrounding forests and more wildlife lives at The Den at Whistler Inn, just one Jasper accommodation option on Booking.com alongside mountain lodges and pet-friendly hotels with pools.
The Jasper Tramway – Canada’s highest cable car – goes to the top of The Whistlers mountain, and on the slopes of another are the Miette Hot Springs open-air pool. The Jasper-Yellowhead Museum details the area’s history, and traditional Haida styles and colours are celebrated in the modern Two Brothers Totem Pole
Nice town to walk about. Easy to get around. Lovely homes.

Parking....
Parking.... There is free parking outside hotel to load/unload for limited time, but it's hit and miss as to whether it's available as you pass by. As it's a dual carriageway, not worth the effort unless you are disabled etc. Even then still not guaranteed of course.
Best to park in car park that is literally across the road.
App was no good for a UK visitor.
Use the bar code thingy it works well.
Chargeable after 09.00.
But once you have used bar code once you can pay from across the road in your room.
Putting aside the fact it's chargeable it works well and is a big carpark.
Go on streetview to see the lie of the land.

Jasper is a more rustic mountain town than Banff or Canmore,...
Jasper is a more rustic mountain town than Banff or Canmore, which are in the Banff National Park (Canmore just out of the park boundaries). There are lots of places to visit outside of the town within easy driving distances. The town has many interesting restaurants and shops, and many places in which to stay. Camping is available nearby.

We love Jasper .
We love Jasper . It's welcoming with local smaller stores and the views of the mountains are amazing. We would recommend the Pizza place and the family run L and W restaurant with a large variety of food we really enjoyed.
Not all stores are accessible for people in wheelchairs as they have steps to get into the store. One store allowed me to take t-shirts just outside there open door to show my daughter while they watched .

The lakes are worth seeing.
The lakes are worth seeing. There are several that are very photogenic - lake Annette for instance. The town itself is quite scenic, though nothing close to say the Austrian Tyrol. The SkyTrain is vastly overpriced for what it is.

Spectacular Jasper National Park offers you the opportunity...
Spectacular Jasper National Park offers you the opportunity to visit the Miette Hot Springs, Maligne Valley, Pyramid Lake Island, Mount Edith Cavell, the Icefields Parkway and of course wonderful shopping and dining experiences in the town of Jasper itself. The shop keepers are friendly and helpful and the town takes great pride in its appearance. There are some long travel distances between areas so it's best to check ahead to ensure the attractions you wish to see are open. Jasper is truly the crown jewel of the Canadian Rockies, hiding in plain sight!
This property is located just as you come into Jasper if you’re coming from the Icefields Parkway and is located close enough to walk to most restaurants and shops in downtown Jasper but has the perk of free parking. The front desk staff are very kind, the free breakfast has these awesome tiny pancake bites, and the rooms are comfortable with enough space to work with. They also allow you to borrow bear spray during your stay for when you head out onto the trails.
This hotel is around for ages and just cool. Forget hostels. Restaurant, 2 pubs downstairs with great vibe and fair prices for rooms with shared facilities. We are backpacker. Loved it. I really regret that we cancelled one night. Jasper had more to offer than we thought. Take your time for this beautiful little town and enjoy the surrounding and stay in this hotel. Just perfect !!!
The staff, the very comfortable mattresses, the cleanliness of the property overall including my room.
I have to make special reference to the very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and most helpful receptionists upon my arrival..
The location of the hotel is perfect and close to everything..
I highly recommend this hotel and I will book it fir my next visit to Jasper
Nice hotel with a very good breakfast included. Hotel is renovated outside but the rooms are outdated. Breakfast room and kitchen are also renovated. Room staff, kitchen staff and reception staff are all very friendly and helpful. Location is not right in the centre but it is in a walking distance from the centre (very close). Good chice for staying inJasper
I always stay here when I come to Jasper. This time I went with a friend who has never been before so I asked the hotel if we could have a room with a good view of the mountains and they came through! They gave us an upgraded room on the front of the hotel with an amazing view. Thanks Crimson for making our trip awesome!
The hotel is super clean and well maintained. The room was immaculate clean, so did the shared bathrooms. the location is premium, right downtown. The staff were very friendly. We’re very happy with great deal we got in a long weekend. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again next time we visit Jasper.
We absolutely loved everything about Pine Bungalows. the cabins are so cosy and lovely. The location is great, we had wildlife on the property daily. The main lodge is great to have on-site and Jasper is close by for any other needs. The perfect spot for exploring the National park
The location is accessible to the train station. We were in Jasper for the night to catch our train the next morning. The hotel was obviously not new, you have to go up the next floor to reach your room. But that was no issue at all . I find the room and the washroom very clean.
Great location. Staff were good. Room was decent. You don't go to Jasper for the inside of hotel rooms anyway. Liked that this end of town was quiet. Never had an issue getting parking or any of the other issues many people have complained about. Would stay again.
One of the best locations in Jasper to experience the downtown! Everything was in walking distance, the room as well as reception area was very clean and welcoming. Not your typical Hostel, worth considering if you are also looking for a hotel room...only better!
We were in Jasper for a quick ski weekend. The hotel was comfortable, clean and well priced. We walked to the restaurants at night. All in all we were happy with our stay and would certainly use this hotel again.
It’s located in between jasper downtown and Columbia ice-field,it takes only 38 min to jasper downtown and 35 min towards ice fields,5 min walk to Sunwapta fall,25 to Athabasca fall ,breakfast was excellent
Older hotel but very nicely renovated. Main concern was no parking. Only about a dozen designated parking spots and had to park on the street - in Jasper. Also room seemed to be over utility room. Noise.
Meg at the front desk gave the absolute best advice on what to do in Jasper. Stay here just for Meg. I stay at hotels ~100 nights per year and her suggestion made this trip.
You get the mountain and the river view . Few rooms facing the river and it was amazing. There are many lakes closer to this hotel and jasper city is 4 minutes away.
